Now that our move to California is out of the way, and my kitchen is all set, I should get cooking…right?
But instead, my new city of San Francisco has me mesmerized…the beautiful weather and breathtaking views, along with oodles of farmers markets and interesting restaurants waiting to be discovered, tempt me to stay out of the kitchen.
So most days, our home cooked meals are flavor-fully light and easy to prepare.
Like today’s spicy shrimp Tacos, filled with juicy shrimp marinated in a couple of ground Indian spices, and briefly seared on a hot pan.
Top a warm mini Tortilla or Indian Chapati (here’s my recipe for home-made whole wheat Roti-Chapati) with a dollop of Yogurt Raita Slaw and casually lay the shrimp over it, for mouthfuls of pure yum-ness.
Even just by itself, the yogurt Raita slaw makes an excellent side salad, with a hint of nutmeg adding the right touch of je-ne-sais-quoi to it.
This recipe has attained nirvana – it now appears in our cookbook ‘Tikka Tikki & Spicy Bites’ which features our global twist on Indian Kebabs, Tikka, Chutneys and more. Click here for details and get your copy soon – you will enjoy using it!
